A large portion of central TX, and southeast OK is under a Slight Risk for severe weather today.
A large area of severe thunderstorms, capable of large hail and some damaging winds, are expected to develop over these areas. Yet another trough has formed, and is moving over this area today, setting up for tomorrows event over the Gulf Coast. In addition to the trough, a weak surface low with associated fronts will also develop across this region, allowing for some destabilisation of the atmosphere in accordance to this.
Now, onto the usual paragraph that ends the daily post. A tornadic supercell that was PDS warned around 2230 UTC last night produced a damaging tornado that destroyed several buildings, including a church, near South Norfolk and Virginia Beach, VA. The supercell responsible may have also caused another tornado in the vicinity, but this remains unconfirmed still at present. Probable damage from the PDS warned tornado is most likely going to be rated in the high EF2 to mid EF3 range, but I will update this when the damage surveys are complete from the local NWS office.
As usual, if anything significant develops, I'll update this post if I can.
