Among contemporary meteorologists, this was considered one of the most intense tornadoes observed up to that time. Parts of Oakville "vanished," with house debris scattered for miles.

This F4 tornado caused severe damage, Parts of Northern Marion County were destroyed...one piece from the Indiana State Capitol was found in Gaston, Indiana, which is about 50 miles away.

This Very High End F3 caused extreme damage in and close to the Muncie area, the Tornado occured at the same time of the Oakville Tornado and was spawned by the same supercell, 69 people were killed in this tornado, making it the second killer tornado of April 1884.

This F4 Tornado caused major damage in the city of Lima...this Tornado was produced by the same supercell that produced the Killer F3 Muncie Tornado and the Killer F5 Oakville Tornado...the tornado killed 4 people...making it the third killer tornado of April 1884...and the 4th of 8 tornadoes that this supercell produced.
