The other fatality occurred in a vehicle on 4th street. The tornado weakened and took off a roof of a house on 2nd street and overturned a car on 1st street. The tornado destroyed much of the southern portion of Indianola, where all ten deaths occurred. One man was fatally injured when he was hit by debris while finding a spot to take cover. Another three were from their home collapsing on top of their bodies. Another five were from the same incident occurring several homes to the right. A final fatality occurred on Delta Blues Street, where a person was running to take shelter, but was hit by debris, which resulted in death. The storm leveled a grocery store, and in the store, items were scattered for several miles. A box of tissues was found in Sunflower, the next town to the northeast. Also, a box of printer paper was scattered and was later found in Clarksdale, 51.75 miles to the north-northeast. The tornado lifted just outside of Indianola. | |||
