the 1993 Florida City tornado was the deadliest Floridian tornado on record, and one of the deadliest american tornadoes...killing 472 people.
Meteorological Synopsis[]
On March 26 a low pressure system developed over Eastern Nebraska, resulting in the National Severe Storms Forecast Center issuing a High Risk for eastern NE and a Day 2 MDT risk over Southeastern FL due to how fast the system was moving, early on the morning of March 27 a upgrade to a High Risk was required for the FL Keys and Southeastern FL concerning long tracked, destructive tornadoes...Reports of ropes came in between 1427-1958 before stronger cones and wedges were reported, a weak thunderstorm developed on radar at 2040...this storm quickly strengthened and then produced a F0 at 2048, by 2050 the tornado was already a F2...the tornado hit F3 intensity at 2053, and then reached F4 intensity at 2055...the tornado started weakening at 2101 after claiming 47 lives and then diminished a minute later.
